29th of November 2014 marked the last charity event for BeCause. Our committee capped the year by organizing a trip for 36 orphans and abandoned children to watch a stage performance ‘Lumi Air’ at Sunway Lagoon & Resort. The children were all from New Hope Rumah Safiyyah. To ensure it was a fun filled outing for them, goodie bags and meals were also provided for them.

Walk for Health with NASAM
BeCause team comprising members, friends, as well as staff from Holiday Travel & Tours Sports Club make up a group of about 50, participated in the Nasam Walk for Health on 19th October 2014. At Lake Titiwangsa. This event by Nasam was to create awareness amongst participants about stroke, the most common causes and the avenue available for rehabilitation.
Invitation to Visit the Alzheimer Disease Foundation Malaysia (ADFM)
On 4th September 2014, BeCause members attended ADFM’s Open Day upon an invitation by President Dato Jeffery Ng. It was a busy day at the day care centre. About 100 guests and sponsors turned up. The centre provides activities and social interaction for those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Our members were touched by them as they and their families turned up to take part in the day’s singing event. What is something we take for granted requires monumental effort by those who have lost their memory and power of recall.The centre also have programs conducted by qualified staff aimed at improving memory or to prevent it from worsening.
We did it – 240,000 meals by 600 volunteers in 6 hours!
Barely 10 days after the Sunway-sponsored Stop Hunger Now (“SHN”) 40,000 meals packing event, on 28th June, BeCause members joined hands again with SHN, this time along with OCBC and Rotary Club of Georgetown and Pudu to pack 240,000 meals in 6 hours.
NASAM Food and Fun Fair 2014 and more to come!
The eagerly awaited day – National Stroke Association Malaysia’s (NASAM) 17th annual food fair finally arrived on 15th June 2014 held at the playground next to Taman Jaya.
40,000 meals for 3 charities – all packed within 3 hours by 260 volunteers
Wednesday 18th June was a day to remember. 10 BeCause members joined hands with Stop Hunger Now (SHN) and 250 Sunway staff to pack meals for 3 charities at Sunway Pyramid. The event was graced by Sunway Group’s Deputy Chairman Tan Sri Dato Razman M Hashim and Puan Sri Susan Cheah, amongst other VIPs.

Our First Public Shout Out!
BECAUSE set up a little booth in a little corner of the LG1 concourse of Sunway Pyramid, where a roadshow organised by Kechara was held. The theme for this roadshow was “The Joy of Sharing“. We thank Kechara and Sunway for having us as well as Kechara Children’s Class for loaning the chic bar tables and chairs to us =D
